Since I am still waiting on the Hardware, I decided to start with the aft side skins of the fuselage yesterday. I prep'd the longerons a while back so this has been so far very pleasant to work on.
To make the big cut-outs I use the "Laubsaege", whatever that is in english 😉
I probably have the hardware befoe I finish the left and right aft skin so this ok, the parts a going to use now just a little bit more room in the bedroom (makes my wife happy - NOT).

Backorder arrived beat up
This is how my backordered parts arrived ....(10.01.2017)
I have not opened the box - it really arrived that way. I am surprised that all parts are in there.
I really carefully inspected the engine mount, luckily it only has 2 minor scraches....
Was shipped with XPO...

11. Jan 2017 - Status
As of today, I am still waiting on the Hardware kit which was ordered before christmas...
I am kind of stop until I receive the hardware. I do not want to updrill the holes too big before I get my hands on the bolts - especially with the "tight fit prefered"
But very soon I will fit the wing skins...exciting...
Awesome was a few days ago when my daughter haf fun putting clecos in and out...while WE were updrilling the Ribs for the wing substructure
For corrosion inhibit - I decided to use T-9 Boeshield inside the wings, fuse and tail. On the outside the Waiex should be painted after 40 hrs of test flight...maybe then in Germany.
Status is 116 Hours into the projekt.

Mistakes so far...
Couple of mistakes I did so far .....
There is the Aileron counterweight. It took me an hour or so to figure out how to cut hte 1" lead blog. While I was so busy figuring that out I forgot to double check the measurement, since I had a brainfart on the inital measuring...
So to fix it I will modify the installation as seen on the picture.
Next ...
Forward upper longerons (I was working on that one, since I am still waiting on the hardware).
The slots to be put in, I thought that they have to be on the upper and lower side. Basically making a thru-slot - I should have checked the plan further ahead what the are for. Well, now I have one thru-slot which I am going to use for wires (..or so). Should not be affecting the structure...
Next ...
For the wing spacer made from 0.032" aluminum I took the wrong sheet of 0.063". after 7 spacers I figured it out and used the correct 0.032" which I was able to cut with the snips. Hopefully are the rest pieces big enough for the parts I need to make from the 0.063" sheet
Update 13.01.17
So, as I am trying to bend the former clips, I thought the 1/8" bend radius is small enought to just bend it in the vise and finish bending with a plier and by hand.
The first one worked out ok, but the second one jus broke off on the 120deg bend. Well I guss that radius is really necessary - So I cut out a new piece from the aluminum sheet and used a 1/4" drill bit for the radius...
Update 17.01.17
on the right side aft fuselage skin I put the rudder cable slot 3/16" to high, but I am going to wait how that plays out in the end - the fairing should cover it anyway if I have to open up the slot a bit.
Also the Flap-actuator opening is positioned 3/4" to far forward - well thats hidden behind the Flap itself and I wait here aswell how that plays out at the flap acuator installation, by how much I have to change that opening.... Agian one of those stories ...measure tripple before cutting 👷
Update 03.07.17
Drilling the titanium Landing gear - A NIGHT MARE - after messing up the tail wheel spring - I went to a local Steel shop and he drilled the main landing gear leg... should have done tht from the getgo....tail wheel sort of ok....not up to my standard however ....
Also I should have waited with the rear lower fuselage skin until the forward fuselage skin.... and fit them both together....

Left Tail substructure
18.12.2016
Today I riveted the substructure of the left tail together - of course I dont have any hardware yet and can not bolt the front rib to the structure. For Updrilling that hole I wait until I get my hands on the bolt itself.
For the right I have to wait on the right rear channel since that one is on backorder.
For Hardware I am waiting on the availabilty of the WBParts Hardware kit supplied through Sonex.
